When it comes to creating contemporary, functional living spaces, steel frame extensions offer the perfect blend of modern aesthetics and structural durability. Our latest project — a sleek 3m x 3m steel frame extension — is a perfect example of how even modest footprints can deliver maximum impact.
Steel frame construction is fast becoming a go-to method for modern extensions, and it’s easy to see why. It’s strong, flexible, and ideal for projects that demand large glazed panels and slimline frames. In this case, the extension serves as a beautiful addition to a brick-built home, creating a new space that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living.
This 3m x 3m structure was precision-engineered off-site and assembled quickly on location. The steel beams were powder-coated in a matte black finish to complement the home’s existing brickwork and deliver a clean, architectural look.
Floor-to-ceiling glazing on three sides floods the space with natural light, making it feel much larger than its actual footprint. Bifold doors open the room up to the garden, creating a seamless transition — perfect for entertaining or simply enjoying a quiet morning coffee.
Inside, the bare structure offered a blank canvas. The walls were finished in a smooth plaster ready for decorating, and the floor was prepped for underfloor heating or engineered wood, depending on the client’s final preferences.
